The iconic chain restaurant Bob’s Big Boy started out as a small hamburger stand in 1936 opened by Bob Wian in Glendale, and claimed to have the first double -decker hamburger. In 1949 Bob opened Bob’s Big Boy in Burbank, which is considered the original location that still stands today, known for its streamline modern architecture and large neon sign. The original Bob’s Big Boy was declared a California Point of Historical Interest in 1992 and continues to stay open and even hosts events like their Friday night Classic Car Show. The diner has appeared din many films cementing its place in pop culture as a piece of Los Angeles Americana.
