La Piazzetta

On maps, it is called Piazza Umberto I, however locals call it Piazzetta or “The Square”. This is the living room of Capri, where locals and tourists have their morning coffee and croissants, and cocktails before dinner.

At the center of Capri, La Piazzetta is surrounded by cafes and restaurants with outdoor tables and colorful umbrellas. Also in the square is the newsstand, City Hall, the Church of Santo Stefano, and the iconic Clock Tower. Strings of lights stretch overhead and light up the night sky.

Busy with day-trippers by day and lively with celebrations at night, La Piazzetta is the heart of Capri.
